The Prototype Helmet

This was a commissioned piece to design and build a helmet resembling the one used in the 2013 movie The Prototype.  This project was done in entirely in CAD, with several iterations being made before the design was finalized.  The final parts where printed out of PETG plastic in two halves on my delta printer, then pinned together and gap filled to create a smooth seem line.  The entire helmet was then sanded smooth and painted to look worn to mirror the look used in the film.  Orange acrylic sheeting was cut to shape and inserted into the eyes to act as lenses, which can be popped out and swapped of different color lenses at any time.  The finished helmet is very durable and serves as a great display piece as well as a wearable prop.
